Dr Zhou Xin Published Newest Research Findings About Molecular Diagnosis on Nature Materials

Dr Zhou Xin is a member of Biological and Medical Nanotechnology Group, which is led by Prof. Gu Ning from School of Biological Science& Medical Engineering in SEU. Recently, the team innovatively developed “Molecular Diagnostic Strategy of Biological Markers in A Sample of Phage(a kind of bacterial virus) Modified Gold Nanoparticle Probes”. The response rate even reached 3 aM. The research was named “Phage-mediated counting by the naked eye of miRNA molecules at attomolar concentrations in a Petri dish” and published online on Nature Materials(IF:36.5) in August 17th.

The paper has an affiliation with Southeast University. The first author is associate professor Zhou Xin and the corresponding author is Prof. Gu Ning. The research results enjoyed  extensive adaptability towards the testing objects. Appropriate replacement among ligands on nanoprobes check not only nucleic acid molecules but also protein ones as well as pathogens such as viruses. If the strategy can be further developed into automatic detecting system, fast-speed quantitative analysis will be available. The research is promising and has a good prospect of clinical application.
