Teng Gaojun’s Research Group Reported Latest Research in Lancet Oncology

On 15th April, Lancet Oncology, the apex academic journal in medical field, published the research result of “Conventional stents versus stents loaded with iodine seeds for the treatment of unresectable oesophageal cancer: a multicentre, randomised phase 3 trial” initiated by Teng Haojun, a professor from Medical School/ Zhongda Hospital of Southeast University and assisted by 16 hospitals in China. 

Based on the former research achievements towards “oesophageal stent loaded with seeds” of Teng’s team, which own all related intellectual property rights, the current research program is a a multicentre, randomised phase 3 trial initiated by the researchers. 

The research result successfully revealed the fact that the insertion of an oesophageal stent loaded with iodine seeds prolonged survival when compared with the insertion of a conventional covered self-expandable metallic stent. 

In recent years, Teng’s research team have attached great importance to clinic research and obtained fruitful achievements. They have published a number of academic papers with great influence on leading journals of medical field including Radiology, J Hepatology, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, JACC-Cardiovasc Intervent, etc..
